Insight: John 4:43-5:18
Jesus continued His Ministry by healing a royal’s son and a man at Bethesda. These are the second and third miracles He performed after the miracle of changing the water to wine at Cana.
Jesus’ healing ministry was to show the people that He has all authority in God’s Kingdom and on earth.
God and People
God the Father is always at work as He directs His Will through His Son, Jesus.
Jesus
Jesus proclaimed that people wanted to see signs and wonders without first trusting in Him. Nevertheless, He healed on these two occasions. His authority was questioned by the Jewish authorities, but they could not refute His miracles.
My Response
Sins:
- Disbelieving Jesus’ Words
- Wanting to see signs and wonders from Jesus first before putting trust in Him
Promise: When Jesus says something, He carries it out.
Example: Jesus showed compassion to those in need.
Command: Jesus’ response to those who were healed, “Stop sinning or something worse might happen.”
