Insight: Psalms 1-2; Proverbs 1:1-19
Israel went through multiple cycles of Fall, Redemption, and Revelation. Finally, they wanted an earthly king. God revealed Redemption when one of David’s descendants would sit on the throne (Jesus Christ). A glimpse of Jesus Christ is provided in the Psalms. The Psalms reveal those who delight in the LORD.
God and People
The LORD watches over the way of the righteous. The way of the wicked leads to destruction. The LORD laughs at the wicked. People either delight in the Law of the LORD or they are like chaff which the wind blows away. The fear (respect) of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Jesus
The LORD made Jesus His Son. He made the nations His Inheritance, the ends of the earth His Possession while ruling the earth. The LORD installed Jesus as King on mount Zion, His Holy mountain.
