Remain Committed to the LORD Only! – An Excerpt from a Study

Insight: Isaiah 52:13-53:12

The prophet Isaiah told the nation of Israel that the LORD would judge them for worshipping other gods. As a result of their disobedience, Israel was taken captive by Babylon. However, because of the LORD’s love for Israel, He would bring them back home. The LORD promised that a Chosen One (Jesus Christ) would suffer and die as a sacrifice for the sins of God’s people.

God and People

God revealed clearly the prophecy of Jesus Christ coming into the world and acting as a sacrifice for our sins. The people that God has chosen are the recipients of Christ’s sacrifice for them.

Jesus

Jesus, sent by God the Father, grew up from birth but was innocent (no sin) and rejected by mankind. He took up our sins upon Himself and bore our transgressions. By His wounds our souls are healed. He was resurrected after He died.

My Response

Sin: Disbelief that God the Father sent God the Sin into the world as a propitiation for our sins

Promise: Jesus would come into the world to suffer and die to redeem us from our sins. He later rose from the dead.

Example: Jesus served as an example for believers to consider others more important than themselves (Philippians 2:3-4).

Command: It was the LORD’s will to crush Jesus (for our sins)
