Our relationship with God is affected by our sin nature. Why is this so? God is perfect and knows no sin. Therefore, He cannot be a part of any relationship where sin is present. Sin is a stain on a person’s soul; it is a cancer which in an uncorrected state, separates a soul from God. Isaiah 59:2 tells us that our sins have separated us from God. We know from John 1:1 that Jesus Christ is the Word of God who became flesh.
