One of the difficult topics to bring up is sin. Most of us do not think about it when we get up in the morning and go about our business. However, we do live in a world created by God, and since He created everything, His rules apply.
When we disobey God’s Word (the Bible) we sin. The consequence of our sin is separation from God and everlasting torment for our souls.
However, God’s Word allows us to be saved from this terrible predicament and separation from God: “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit” (1 Peter 3:18). Did you get that? Christ suffered for our sins so that we would not have to suffer for them. This is why the latter phrase in Romans 6:23 says, “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Do you believe that? Are you willing to accept that from your heart in faith? Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” That is, your soul will be saved from that everlasting torment mentioned earlier. Asking Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins and submitting to Him from now on by obeying God’s Word is your choice to make. That’s God’s grace! I hope you will seriously consider making that choice. It will be the most important choice you ever make!
